Privacy Policy

This policy describes how Shukudai handles personal information in its adult-only controlled alpha.

What Shukudai collects

Shukudai collects account details such as name, email, role, organization, login state, and legal-consent versions; tutor and learner relationships and invite records; lesson notes, prompts, homework drafts, submitted answers, grading feedback, recordings or audio references when used, and support messages; and usage, billing, and security logs needed to operate the service.

Consent and adult eligibility

Tutor and learner consent are separate contracts. Shukudai records the applicable consent version, current Terms and Privacy versions, a server timestamp, and the acting account. Current contract versions are tutor tutor-adult-2026-07-13 and learner learner-adult-2026-07-13; Terms are version 2026-07-13.

The controlled alpha is for adults who are at least 18. It permits adult tutors, adult invited learners, and operator-provisioned adult solo learners. Public アイ-sensei self-signup and all minor account paths remain disabled.

Why it is used

Data is used to provide tutor and learner workflows, generate and validate Japanese homework, grade submissions, personalize follow-up practice, maintain account security, meter AI usage, support billing, diagnose problems, and respond to support, export, or deletion requests.

AI processing

Shukudai sends the minimum task context needed to configured AI providers through server-side services and worker jobs. This can include tutor prompts, selected learner profile context, lesson notes selected by a tutor, exercise content, and learner answers when AI grading is required. Provider keys stay server-side, and production tutor and solo paths do not use fast mode.

Raw prompts, learner answers, and generated prose are not included in analytics or evaluation exports. Those exports use bounded, deidentified facts and opaque event references.

Testimonials and public sharing

Shukudai does not publicly share a testimonial without a separate, explicit grant from an authenticated tutor or organization admin. That consent can be revoked at any time. Revocation stops future sharing and triggers removal or deidentification unless a legal hold requires limited retention.

Deletion, retention, and export

To request an export or deletion, email support@shukudai.app from the account email and describe the account or learner record. Shukudai verifies the request and handles it consistently with active tutor and learner relationships, billing records, security needs, and legal retention requirements. Minimal consent, security, and financial audit facts may be retained when required; public delivery links are revoked during organization deletion.

Minors

Do not create, invite, or enroll an account for anyone under 18. Minors remain out of scope until guardian or school authority, provider terms, deletion and export behavior, abuse controls, and legal review are separately approved. If Shukudai learns that a minor account was created, it will disable the account and begin the applicable review and deletion process.
